Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Gloucester 10K (July 2021) and the Blenheim Palace 7K and the Westonbirt 10K (in October 2021) in memory of Minnie Westby, who is the niece of my friend, Ellie Haile.
Minnie had cerebral palsy and epilepsy, she was unable to swallow and was fed through a tube, and she was unable to move much on her own. Every day was a struggle for her, but despite all of this, Minnie still managed to smile and had an infectious laugh, and she provided her family with pure happiness.
Minnie sadly passed away in January 2020 after her heart stopped beating, just before her second birthday.
Caring for Minnie was a 24-7 task, and one which wouldn't have been possible without Acorns. Their services are vital, both for the children they help, and their wider families, for support and respite. They also provided amazing support to her family after Minnie’s death, and provided a space where they could all be together.
I never met Minnie in person but through photos and stories that Ellie has shared I know that she was a courageous, happy little girl.
I am choosing to run for Acorns as they provided invaluable comfort and support to Minnie's family and a time of such heartbreak and allowed them to spend precious final days with Minnie and say goodbye.
If you are able to donate to this fantastic charity it will be much appreciated and go towards helping other children and their families.
Thank you
